Expectation of Compliance and Ethics for Brokers
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) is committed to a corporate culture of compliance and ethics and we encourage business associates to adopt a Code of Conduct particular to their own organization that reflects a commitment to prevent, detect and correct any occurrences of unethical behavior.
In addition, a situation where the interests or activities of the agency or its representatives could influence judgment or decisions in such a way to compromise the ability to act in the best interest of their customers or contractual obligations could be deemed a conflict of interest.
A conflict of interest may also include activities that only appear to influence judgment or decisions. The agency and its representatives must ensure that they do not engage in activities that create a conflict of interest or are otherwise incompatible with their responsibilities as a representative of BCBST.
The agency should notify BCBST if it becomes aware of any conflicts of interest that could possibly affect the contractual relationship.
